MARE OCEAN IMMERSION SUMMER WORKSHOP

The Ocean Immersion Summer Workshop, located on the beautiful campus of Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Birch Aquarium, is designed for teachers, school administrators and informal educators that work with K-6 students or classroom teachers. Participants will join us in field and classroom instruction highlighting the marine habitats featured in the MARE (Marine Activities, Resources and Education) curriculum.

Daily instruction includes a fascinating array of ocean science content delivered by a talented group of educators and scientists. Instruction will provide experience with standards-rich inquiry-based science, techniques for addressing the needs of English learners, and strategies for incorporating literacy into your science program.

FEE: $350 (includes tuition, lunch and snacks and $100 in curriculum/teaching materials)

Scholarships available for those demonstrating financial need.
